Fungling, March 27: The farmers of Taplejung, who have been suffering due to lack of rain for a long time, are now excited. Farmers are excited as it rains every morning and evening and helps to grow the crops. Santkumar Limbu of Paktanglung Rural Municipality-6 came to the headquarters at Fungling Bazar on Thursday as he was unable to irrigate the cardamom plantation. Since the third week of October, he is usually busy in the cardamom plantation from morning to evening, but since last week it has been raining every day in the evening and morning, he has now come to the headquarters. Basant Phembu of the same village has also become cheerful now.

He said that since it started raining regularly, he also got free time as he did not have to water. Farmers in hilly areas are now busy sowing grain. Corn is planted especially from the third week of February to April. Maize is the main crop of the mountainous region. Ran Bahadur Limbu of Sirijanga Rural Municipality-6 Mamankhe said that the farmers here got a big relief when it started raining in the evening and early morning at the time of corn planting. He said, “It is raining at the time of corn planting. It seems that there will be good grain production this year.” Vimana Limbu of Meringden Village Pakia-6, who was worried after the winter crops dried up due to lack of rain for a long time, is now excited because of the rain.
