Gold and silver jewelry found in cloth cargo

Two people have been arrested with gold and silver jewelry at Tribhuvan International Airport. When a cargo box labeled as ‘shoes, sarees, and other clothes’ was checked, jewelry that looked like gold and silver was found, police said.
The initial investigation has revealed that the material was being sent from Kathmandu to the United States by Unique Cargo through the Apex Logistics.

The police have taken 46-year-old Yagyaraj Subedi, the proprietor of Apex Logistics and 34-year-old Ram Prasad Dahal of Unique Cargo operator into custody. Superintendent of Police Raj Kumar Silwal of the Tribhuvan International Airport Security Office informed that they were handed over to the Tribhuvan Airport Customs Office, Gauchar, for necessary legal action.

The police have seized jewelry made of gold and silver from a cargo box, including 22 large units and 44 small units of Naugedi, 14 units of Duigedi and 20 units of Jantar.
