Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA) signs a collaboration agreement with VISA

Kathmandu, 14 August. Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA) has signed a collaboration agreement with VISA, the global leader in digital payments, to conduct a series of programs and activities aimed towards building cybersecurity awareness and capacity building within the financial sector in Nepal.

With a longstanding partnership committed to advancing digital payments in Nepal, NBA and VISA continue their efforts with a strategic focus on cybersecurity. The joint initiative covers provincial activities along with focused interaction session with the concerned stakeholders.

Primarily, the partnership shall focus on conducting cybersecurity program across all the provinces throughout Nepal. In order to support the provincial engagements, a wider program shall also be organized which shall bring along concerned stakeholders along with officials from various agencies and regulators. In addition to these activities, the partnership shall also focus on conducting focused interactive session amongst VISA officials and officials from the banks.

NBA and VISA believe that this strategic partnership shall help to further support and build the payment ecosystem in Nepal while also creating awareness and capacity building on cybersecurity related matters, and also learning from the international experience.
