Jumla bench of High Court Surkhet clears 90 per cent of cases
Jumla, July 14: The High Court Surkhet, Jumla bench has resolved 90.68 percent of the cases that was registered so far in the current financial year 2080/81.
According to Jumla Bench Chief Justice Gokarna Dangi, said 229 newly registered cases and 50 cases from last year were brought under responsibility of the bench and resolved. Another 26 cases have yet to be decided in the court.
Tank Prasad Khatri, Information Officer of the High Court Jumla Bench, shared that out of 28 writs 21 have been deferred while seven petitions are yet to be heard.
Thus, five out of six cases of divorce, 10 out of 10 cases of land dispute have been settled. Among the cases resolved, 12 out of 13 cases were related to traffic accidents, 19 out of 25 cases of extortion, 25 cases related to murder. According to the details released by the court, 69 out of 71 cases related to rape, 2 related to untouchability, 19 of the 22 related to drug abuse, 15 out of 22 related to theft, 11 out of 12 related to polygamy and child marriage were resolved and verdict delivered.
