Nepali Movie “MEOW” Announced: Anup and Uttam to Star in Lead Roles


January-15, Kathmandu. The Nepali movie “MEOW” has been announced with Anup Bikram Shahi and Uttam Pradhan in the lead roles. The announcement was made in Kathmandu, coinciding with Maghe Sankranti Parva.

The film, presented by Jay Media Management, will be written, directed, and produced by Jay Raj Roy. Although the lead actress has not been finalized yet. Director Roy shared that “MEOW” will delve into the story of a ‘psycho killer’ grappling with a troubled past and a mentally challenged state. The narrative will explore the character’s presence in society and the resulting circumstances, promising a gripping experience with unexpected twists and turns.

The music for the film will be composed by South Indian film music legend AJ AliMirzaq Naushad Ali. Renowned South Indian playback singers Sai Vignesh and Padmalatha, known for their contributions to films like ‘Kantara’ and ‘Thani Oruvan,’ respectively, will provide their voices.

The DOP (Director of Photography) for “MEOW” will be Akash Kumar, a distinguished cinematographer from South Indian cinema. Laxman Sunar will serve as the associate director and editor.

Notably, the film is set to have a release in China, facilitated by the Chinese distributor South Asia Maritime Silk Road (Fujian) International Media. Co. Ltd.

Jaynee Khatiwada Roy, Kendra Regmi, and Prince Kumar Chaudhary are co-producers, and Neesha Khatiwada is the executive producer of the film. The sound design will be done by Suman Majhi, and Sudip Bhandari will contribute to the VFX. The targeted worldwide release for “MEOW” is in 2024.
