An Indian arrested for trying to get Nepalese citizenship
Madheybindu, Aug 30: Police have arrested an Indian citizen trying to obtain Nepali citizenship by pretending to be a fake father in Nawalparasi (Bardghat Susta West). Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhojraj Pandey of District Police Office Nawalparasi (Bardghat Susta West) said that 19-year-old Rahul Kurmi of Bharat Maharajgunj Madhavaliaya was arrested.
The arrested Kurmi was currently living in Mamaghar at Pratappur Rural Municipality-9 Athlaiya in Nawalparasi (Bardghat Susta West). “The Kurmi, who came to get a police warrant for citizenship after taking a birth certificate recommendation from the ward, was detained after it was confirmed that he was an Indian citizen during questioning,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Pandey said. Rahul was going to take citizenship of Pratappur-6 Kathawa resident Gauri Shankar Kurmi as a father.
“This person has taken control of the birth certificate made by Ward No. 6, the citizenship recommendation and the on-site citizenship Sargmin Muchulka’s letter sent from the locality administration office,” he said. Belatari District Police Office informed that the arrested Kurmi has been remanded for five days by the district court and an investigation has been started in relation to the crime related to citizenship.
