TU preparing to conduct suspended exams from first week of September
Kathmandu, July 29: The Tribhuvan University (TU) is preparing to implement its examinations schedule (postponed earlier) from the first week of September. The TU had suspended its examination programmes scheduled from March 20 owing to the global coronavirus crisis and the postponement was extended with the enforcement of nation-wide lockdown against the virus on March 24 which was lifted from the night of July 21. Students who earlier went home have demanded two weeks to return to Kathmandu for the exams, it is said.
According to TU Controller of Examinations, Pushpa Raj Joshi, the semester examinations of Masters’ degree and Bachelor’s level will begin in the first week of September and the annual examinations will be conducted in the third week of September. “Students have to stay in 14-day quarantine after they return to the Valley from outside and we will start the semester-wise examinations from the programmes having the lowest number of students.”
As he said, the TU is working to publish the exam time-table soon. Attention will be given to fix March 20 exam centers at the convenient locations. The TU had postponed all exams owing to the COVID-19 crisis. Prior to this, the Dean Office of Faculty of Management informed that Master’s degree exams would start from the last week of August and the first, third, fifth and seventh semester examinations of Bachelor’s degree from the first week of September.
