Damak, May 10 : Nepal Police Club has clinched the title of Damak Gold Cup football tournament that concluded here today. The NPC won the title by defeating Manang Marsyangdi Club, Kathmandu by 1-0 the final match of the tournament. Along with the gold cup, NPC also won Rs 1.3 million in cash prize.

Similarly, runner-up team MMC bagged Rs 611,000. Santosh Hemram of Nepal Police was declared the best defender, Sujal Shrestha of MMC the best midfielder, Ananta Raj Thapa of NPC the best coach and Rejin Subba of Police Club as the best striker.

Likewise, Nawayug Shrestha of Army and Max Alawale of Madan Bhandari Sports Academy won the title of highest goal scorers. All the title winners won Rs 25,000 and a trophy reach.

Goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong of NPC was declared the best footballer of the tournament, and he won a motorcycle. The tournament that began on May 2 was hosted by the Damak Municipality. A total of 10 teams including the host team had competed in the tournament.(RSS)
