Govt to support migrant workers in litigation process: Bista

Kathmandu, April 16 : Minister for Labour Employment and Social Security Gokarna Bista has said the government will assist in the litigation of Nepalis migrant workers languishing in foreign jails in course of their overseas employment.
In a press meet in the capital city on Monday, Minister Bista shared that the migrant workers were facing various hurdles due to lack of knowledge and information.

The Ministry has shared that about 500 Nepalis migrant workers in the Middle East are in different jails.
He further committed to reforming foreign employment sector by through regulations of various mechanisms. Minister Bista also said that banking system would be developed so that the migrant workers would compulsorily send the remittance through formal channel.
Bista was of the view that a certain percent of remittance would be invested in the productive sectors, and social security will be provided to the investors in return.(RSS)
