50 significant achievements of Home Minister in 50 days
Kathmandu, April 16: The Ministry of Home has said that remarkable improvement has been noticed in home administration, Nepal Police, immigration and good governance with 50 significant steps forwarded by the Ministry during the 50 days of assumption of office by Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa. Home Minister Thapa had assumed his office on February 26.
According to the Secretariat of the Home Minister, proposal for stopping the registration and renewal of transport entrepreneurs committees for breaking the syndicate in transport sector in the cabinet, forming a probe committee under coordination of Joint-Secretary of Home Ministry Ishwor Raj Poudel to carry out investigation into 33-kilo gold smuggling case and slashing the number of public holidays are described as the major achievements.
Similarly, 37-point directives was issued to Chief District Officers to maintain peace, security and good governance are also included in 50 important activities carried out by the Home Ministry.
Directive and Monitoring Committee was formed under chair of Home Ministry for transport and traffic management, recommendation for the appointment of the Inspector General of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force Nepal on the basis of efficiency and seniority, direction to the Nepal Police and Armed Police Force Nepal to call back the security personnel deputed in other purpose except for security within seven days are included in the progress report.(RSS)
