New plan of action for educational reforms

Kathmandu, April 14 : The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has prepared a three-month-long plan of action with roadmaps of educational reforms by giving emphasis on quality, access and productivity in education.
The plan of action was prepared for legal, structural and institutional transformation to ensure quality, access, equity, inclusion, relevance and promotion of education for the prosperous nation.
Minister for Education, Science and Technology Girirajmani Pokharel is expected to make the plan of action public within some days.
The plan of actions includes reconstitution of high-level national education commission and completion of the education policy compatible to the federal structures within six months for the making of a socialism-oriented prosperous nation on the recommendation of the same commission.
The incumbent education minister is reconstituting the 65-member commission formed by the erstwhile government in last September.
Minister Pokharel has said that he took initiatives to establish the systems for new, scientific and useful education by scrapping the old education system.
Meanwhile, the government has started the school enrolment campaign for the new academic session from Saturday.
Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Education Baikuntha Aryal said that the nationwide campaign was started targeting the students remaining out of school.
Aryal said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Education Minister Giriraj Mani Pokharel enrolled one student each in a school of Mugu on Saturday as a part of the campaign.
He added that door to door campaign would be started from 18th April though the campaign began on Saturday.(RSS)
