Ministers and senior officials are not allowed to visit foreign countries unless it is essential

Kathmandu, March 15: Government ministers and other high-ranking employees will no longer be allowed to travel abroad except in urgent cases. Government Spokesperson and Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma informed that the decision was taken by the Council of Ministers on 30th of February last. The meeting decided to approve the foreign visit of secretaries and additional health secretaries of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ministry of Forest and Environment and Ministry of Health and Population.

It has been decided to form an Implementation Facilitation Committee under the coordination of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Office for the implementation of the report of the High Level Salary Facilitation Commission formed under the coordination of former Chief Secretary Leelamani Poudyal. Kosi Pump has approved the acquisition of land for the improvement of Chandra Canal system. The water minister has been approved to participate in the program on ‘The United Nation 2023 Water Conference’.

It has been decided to maintain uniformity in study visa fees between Nepal and the United States of America. A general and an assistant charioteer of the Nepalese army have been promoted and posted. The meeting decided to use the forest area for the construction of 132 KV transmission line of Lower Likhu Hydropower Project, to use the national forest area for upgrading Rampur Health Chowki, Udaipur to a basic hospital with 10 beds.
