The Commission has drawn attention of the government to protect the human rights of the Dalit community as well. According to the Commission, the rural municipality chairman organized separate receptions to the Dalit and non-Dalit communities on March 6 while organizing a ritual on the 13th day of passing away of his mother. “The Commission deplores the act of organizing separate receptions even by posting banners in public to segregate the Dalit community which is being suppressed since long back,” the Dalit Commission said in its statement.
