Student started fainting, Teaching was stopped
Madyebindu, 20 Feb: After the girls of Adarsh Mavi in Parasi of Nawalparasi (Bardghat Susta West) suddenly started fainting, the school has been closed. Principal Deepak Bhattarai informed that the school was closed for two days due to the increasing number of students fainting yesterday and today.
He said that there was a problem of fainting in students studying in the school from class 6 to 9. “Six female students fainted during prayer in the school on Sunday”, he said. As the disease was not detected, the school informed that it has been decided to close the school today and tomorrow in coordination with the municipality so as not to infect other students.
Dr. Mohammad Nurul Hoda, Mesu of Prithvichandra Hospital, said that ten female students are currently being treated in the hospital and the number may increase. He said that three people who came yesterday were sent home after treatment and ten people are being treated today. “Since this may be mass hysteria, it will be studied at the school,” Mesu Hoda said, “Since this kind of disease is seen due to mental problems, health workers have been mobilized to counsel school teachers and parents.”
