Japan assures additional support for infrastructure development
Kathmandu, July 30 : Minister for Urban Development, Mohammad Istiyak Rai, and Japanese Ambassador to Nepal, Masamichi Saigo, held discussion on Monday. During the meeting held at the Ministry in Singha Durbar, Japanese Ambassador Saigo said he would take initiative to further strengthen Nepal-Japan relations during his term.
Congratulating Japanese Ambassador for his appointment to Nepal, Minister Rai expressed the belief that there would be support of Japan in some activities related with the Ministry during the term of the Japanese Ambassador.
Minister Rai said, “Nepal government has highly evaluated Japan’s contribution to socioeconomic development and mega infrastructures as Kulekhani hydropower project and BP highway.”
Ambassador Saigo said Japan would extend its support in sustainable reconstruction and infrastructure in coming days, establishing coordination with the Ministry. He also reminded that Japan provided support to Nepal in the infrastructure development and post earthquake reconstruction.
