Cabinet decides to donate corrugated sheets to storm survivors
Kathmandu, May 10 : The government is to provide two bundles each corrugated sheets to every household affected by the heavy storm in Dhanusa, Mahottari, Siraha and other districts in the tarai. The support is being provided to ensure immediate residence facility for those affected.
Expressing profound sorrow over the damage caused to life and property in the storm, the cabinet meeting on Wednesday also decided to provide relief assistance of 100,000 rupees to the families who lost their loved ones in the disaster, according to Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Banskota.
The government decided to direct the home ministry to make necessary arrangement to provide relief to those affected by floods last monsoon and the hailstorm recently. For this, a budget of Rs. One billion will be released from the Prime Minister’s relief fund.
The cabinet today endorsed the policy guidelines relating to austerity and effectiveness in public expenditure, 2018.(RSS)
