Kathmandu, July 30. The SAARC Journalist Forum (SJF) executive committee has approved a 35-member committee of its Nepal chapter. The SJF, Nepal Chapter has been led by journalist Prakash Silwal, who works for the Rastriya Samachar Samiti.

Other members are Ananta Subedi, Bijaya Dimdong, Chiranjivi Adhikari, Dipak Shrestha, Dipendra Prajapati, Gopal Sangraula, Hemraj Dhakal, Ifran Babu, Jiban Parajuli, Karan Tamrakar, Kaushal Ghimire, Kamal Rana, Kabita Thapa, Lucky Chaudhary, Lav Pyakurel and Madhav Prasad Tiwari.

Similarly, other members are Nripendra Lal Shrestha, Pushpa Adhikari, Prakash Pandit, Rudra Shree Magar, Ranjit Tamang, Rabindra Kafle, Ratna Kaji Maharjan, Surendra Bhakta Shrestha, Sunil Maharjan, Sunil Acharya, Samana Biyogi, Tekendra Bahadur Mahat, Uddhav Kumar Karki, Uttam Shrestha and Yaman Danuwar. The first meeting of the members of the Committee will set its action plan and select office bearers, according to a statement issued by the SFJ executive committee.

The SJF was established in 2019 in India with the aim of working for the rights and welfare of journalists and ensuring professional journalism and press freedom and freedom of expression and of increasing quality journalism and its access in the international level. It has expanded its branches in the South Asian countries with its headquarters in Nepal.
