Ramesh BG elected president of National Folk Song Academy
Kaski, Nov 25 : The seventh general convention of the Rastriya Lok Tatha Dohori Geet Pratishthan (National Folk and Duet Song Academy Nepal) has elected Ramesh BG as the president for the next term. The general convention was held in Pokhara from November 22 to 24. BG outpaced his closest contender for the post Bishnu Khatri by 39 votes. He polled 584 votes while Khatri bagged 545 votes in the election held on Sunday. The results of the election were announced late night the same day.
Similarly, Raju Dhakal has been elected the Treasurer, Ishwari Prasad Bhusal the Joint Treasurer and Krishna Reule the Administrative Secretary. Jeevan Dahal, Ramesh Raj Bhattarai, Kulendra Bishwakarma, Hari Dangi, Prachanda GC, Basanta Thapa and Pushkal Sharma are elected the Secretary under the open category. Rita Thapa Magar is elected the senior vice-president, Pashupati Sharma the first vice-president, Ramji Khand the second vice-president and Radhika Hamal the woman vice-president.
Likewise, Subas KC is the general secretary; Shankar BC and Shiva Hamal are the two general secretaries, Khuman Adhikari us the organizational secretary, Jamuna Rana Magar the woman secretary and Purnakala BC is the joint treasurer (woman). They were elected unopposed. Chief Minister of Gandaki state government Prithvi Subba Gurung had inaugurated the general convention.
