Nepal defeated by Qatar in ICC T20 Asia Qualifier
Kathmandu, July 23 : Nepal was defeated by Qatar in the first match held today under the ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier. Qatar defeated Nepal by 4 wickets in today’s match held at Indian Association Cricket Ground in Singapore.
Elected to bat first after winning the toss, Nepal posted a target of 123 runs before Qatar. In response, Qatar met the target in 19.2 overs by losing six wickets. Inam-ul-Haq of Qatar scored the highest 41 runs. Sandeep Lamichhane of Nepal took three wickets and Karan KC took one wicket.
Before this, Nepal made 122 runs in 20 overs by losing all wickets. Captain Paras Khadka and Vice-Captain Gyanendra Malla jointly scored 49 runs. Nepal will meet Malaysia in its second match tomorrow. Nepal, Malaysia, Qatar, Singapore and Kuwait have been participating in the tournament. The winner team would make its position in the global qualifier. RSS
