24 July, Kathmandu : The Bhanu road track, named after Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya, has not been completed in a hiatus of 33 years.

Although the road track was opened in 2049 BS to transport agricultural produce to the market, the locals have been facing problems due to the lack of up-gradation of about 10 kilometers section from Chandrawati Bazaar of Bhanu Municipality-13 to Thulo Dhunga.

Kuber Khanal, a local, lamented that despite repeatedly approaching the local, provincial and federal governments for road improvement, it has yet to be materialized.

Ward chair of Bhanu municipality-13 Krishna Bahadur Adhikari said the budget allocated for upgrading the road was low and the contractor did not work on time.

He lamented on the sheer ignorance in completing the work. The contract was awarded for upgrading the road eight years ago at the cost of over Rs 230 million but the work has not been completed, he complained.
