13 July, Kathmandu : A programme has been organised in Bangkok with the participation of Nepalis living in Thailand and organisations of Nepali speaking people on the occasion of the Bhanu Jyatanti today.

On the occasion, Nepali Ambassador to Thailand, Dhan Bahadur Oli, laid emphasis on protection and promotion of Nepali language and culture. The role of Adikavi Acharya, a pioneering poet, is unparalleled in development of Nepali language, he reminded.

It was good to have the programme related to language and literature with the collaboration of all Nepalis and organisations of Nepali speaking people in a special manner from this year, Ambassador Oli said, expressing commitment that the Embassy would always provide support to such activity.

President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association in Thaland, Bhabindra Basnet, President of Thai Nepali Association, Laxman KC, representatives of different organisations, and children literati were present on the occasion.

Even a book related to Nepali language was distributed at the programme. There is sizable population of Nepali speaking people in Thailand.
