Weather : Light to moderate rain in Gandaki province

26 May, Kathmandu : Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is occurring at some places in the hilly parts of Gandaki province and one or two places of the plains of Lumbini province.

This is due to the partial effect of local air and low pressure system around Uttar Pradesh of India, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said.

Likewise, the weather will remain partial to generally clear in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and clear in the remaining part of the country.

The weather this afternoon will be partly to mostly cloudy in the hilly parts of the country, and mostly clear in the remaining parts of the country. There is possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali, and one or two places in the remaining parts of the country.

Similarly, the weather will remain clear tonight in hilly parts of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali and clear in the remaining parts of the country. There is possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places of Koshi region and heavy rain at one or two places in the rest of the hilly areas of the country including Madhes and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

Meanwhile, the temperature of Kathmandu valley is rising continuously, with maximum temperature likely to remain between 31 and 33.4 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature of Dhangadi and Nepalgunj has reached above 41 degrees Celsius in the past few days.
