Locals protest murder of Rajababu in Kapilvastu

Taulihawa, Nov. 24 (RSS): House of Ajit Pandey in Suddhodhan Rural Municipality-4, Motibhari was set on fire alleging Pandey of involvement in the murder of local politician Rajababu Chaudhary on Friday night. Pandey’s two-storied house, cow shed and warehouse were set on fire by the protestors causing damage equal to Rs 20 million to the Pandey family, it is said.

Chaudhary’s relatives, supporters and some locals also blazed a tractor, harvester machine and four motorcycles accusing Pandey of plotting the murder of Chaudhary. As the situation remained tense, the police fired some warning shots in the air while trying to contain the situation. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabi Rawal said that Police Inspector Govinda Shrestha and two more police personnel were injured while trying to take the situation under control.

Currently, a large number of security personnel have been deployed to contain the situation. Likewise, the victim’s family members have refused to perform the final rites of Chaudhary until Pandey was arrested.
