Students go to private schools only if they do not get admission in our school: Baburam Lamichhane
Kathmandu, 29 Oct: As soon as we hear the word “community school”, the image of a school attended by children of the poor or a school that is being destroyed by politics comes to mind. But with the passage of time, many public schools have been making themselves the best. Such schools are refuting the negative accusations against the overall community school from the results. Prithvi Secondary School in Vidur Municipality Ward No. 2 of Nuwakot is in the forefront of the few community schools that are refuting the results of the general objections against community schools.
Prithvi, which is the second best community school in Bagmati Province, which is the capital of the country, has become the second best school in the province based on the results of the last SEE. At a time when community schools are becoming increasingly problematic due to extreme conflicts between teachers and management committees and political parties, Prithvi Mavi is working to make herself a role model by overcoming all these controversies and disappointments.
Which is led by the principal Baburam Lamichhane. Prithvi Mavi, which is led by Lamichhane, is the second in the province, but it is the first if Kathmandu Valley is excluded. Prithvi has been declared as the best school in the state by getting 3.347 GPA in the average result of SEE. Principal Lamichhane, who is more excited when the school is the best in the province, says that the overall development of the school cannot be done by keeping politics out. In view of the fact that the argument that politics has ruined community schools is not gaining strength, Baburam says that there should be politics in schools and schools should take advantage of it.
Lamichhane said that if politics is given a positive place, it will also help in a positive way. Principal Lamichhane says that the whole of Nuwakot should be proud of the school’s achievements. Baburam says that schools can become role models if they pay attention to simple things. He says that when teachers present themselves in class with happiness and enthusiasm, they can give good results through students. He says that the reason for the school’s excellence is the hard work done by the students and teachers in the classroom and they are focused on learning. Talking to Dainiki, Lamichhane said, “I respect politics.
Politics is the capital of the society. You should know how to use that capital.” The dynamic people of the society are affiliated to different parties, even if they cannot be said to be impartial, they do not accept them. Therefore, the political capital should be used for the benefit of the school.’ Baburam said earlier, ‘Politics is dynamic. If it is not used for good, it can be used for harm. Those who come to our school to do politics work for the benefit of the school. Lamichhane, who said that he is against the idea that there should be no politics in the school, said that leaders and people’s representatives represent the community.
He said that it is impossible to work by hating politicians and holding prejudices. Baburam told Dainiki, “Those who come to us work with the interest of the school at the center.” We have also created a similar environment for them. Baburam said that he is also happy with the school’s success as a principal. Although it is generally accepted that the quality of private schools is higher than that of public schools, it is the opposite in Nuwakot’s Vidura.
Students who are not able to study in Prithvi Mavi have to go to private schools. In the last academic session, the school was crowded with students and parents. Baburam says that in some cases he is sad because he has to work with limited resources and cannot fulfill the wishes of all the parents. Although improvement or progress does not happen overnight or in one night, Prithvi Mavi has earned good faith in a short time. He said that the students, teachers, parents and concerned bodies are all stakeholders of the trust received by the school.
