The doctor should be fire who doesn’t understand the patient’s sensitivities

Kathmandu, sept 6 : On the contrary, the hospital has formed a committee to investigate the doctors of Kanti Children’s Hospital who do not understand the sensitivity of the patients. Five-year-old Regisha Gopali of Makwanpur Thaha Municipality 10 died in the emergency room due to the negligence of the hospital doctors. After the news of the incident was published in Wednesday’s Naya Patrika Dainik, the director of the hospital, Dr. Pankaj Rai, has published a letter that formed a committee on Wednesday afternoon.

The hospital did not take any interest in this matter until the media made it public. In all such incidents, the eyes of the media may not reach, that is, the victims may not have access, so it seems that even the hospital administration has been somewhat negligent in this incident. Instead of taking action against the doctors and staff of the hospital who do not even look at the patient’s face despite crying and pleading in the hospital’s emergency room, Director Rai has tried to avoid such a serious issue in the name of the investigation committee.

As the government is expected to take action by dismissing the director, Rai has formed an investigation committee with the aim of protecting the doctors and staff waiting for the girl’s death. He has formed a three-member committee under the coordination of Dr. Prakash Joshi. Nursing Officer Ajit Silwal and Branch Officer Dambaru Dahal are members of the investigation committee. Director of the hospital Rai gave an irresponsible reply saying that the deceased Regisha had to wait in the queue for only 80 minutes instead of 2 hours as reported in the news. Regisha, who was suffering from high fever, was taken to the hospital’s emergency room by her mother and grandfather at 5 pm on Monday.

They pleaded to see Regisha saying that her condition had worsened, but the doctors and staff of the hospital kept on checking other normal patients so that they could wait their turn. But after waiting for 80 minutes, Regisha did not die because she did not get any treatment. The hospital administration closed the OPD service at 1 am and conducted emergency tests on the patients in the OPD . This has been happening at Kanti Children’s Hospital for a long time. News about this has been published and broadcasted many times. It does not seem that those who become hospital directors after working as political leaders have taken the initiative for improvement in this regard.

In other hospitals, after transferring the patient’s treatment to the ticket, other work is done, but in a sensitive children’s hospital like Kanti, the patient is inquired in the emergency department only after taking the first ticket like OPD. Treatment is much more than that. In general, it takes at least 20 to 30 minutes to be treated in the emergency room at Kanti Hospital. On Monday too, an unconscious girl lost her life. It is not her death but the murder due to negligence of the hospital. The state should seriously conduct an independent investigation and take action to make the hospital effective. By dismissing the doctors and health workers of Kanti Children’s Hospital who do not understand the sensitivity of the patients, the message should be given that the government will also work for the poor.
