Balen canceled his visit to China after Nepal’s map was rejected by China
Kathmandu, Aug 30: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Chief Balendra Shah Balen has canceled his five-day visit to China. A few days ago when the map of China was released, Balen canceled the scheduled visit because the areas including Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani were included in the Indian map. He has informed about it through social media. Chief Shah has said that because of China’s rejection of Chuch map of Nepal, he is morally unable to visit China.
Chief Shah has said that showing Nepali territory to India by China without asking Nepal is a wrong step taken against Nepali sensitivities. Balen has said, “We, Nepal, took out a new Chuchche map covering Lipulek, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani on June 7, 2077.
A few days ago, China’s Ministry of Natural Resources released the map of Nepal after removing that location and maintaining the previous map. We consider it a wrong step against our sensitivities to show Nepali territory to India without asking China. Therefore, today I have decided not to go on my 5-day visit to China based on ethics.
