BLANTYRE, Malawi, March 15 (Xinhua): The death toll has risen to 190 in Malawi as more bodies were recovered Tuesday following the devastation caused by Cyclone Freddy that has now affected 12 districts and cities in the southern African nation, according to the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA).

The DoDMA, in its latest update Tuesday afternoon, said 158 people have died in Blantyre alone, the country’s commercial city. Malawi’s government said at least 190 people were killed with 584 injured and 37 missing, while authorities in neighbouring Mozambique reported 20 deaths and 24 injured.
