Unvaccinated children were found
Bajura, 24 Feb: During the collection of samples of children showing symptoms of measles in Budhiganga Municipality-1 Amkot of the district, children who have not been vaccinated have also been found. Even though the district has been declared fully vaccinated, three girls have not received any vaccinations.
Health branch coordinator Deepak Shah said that while taking blood samples from eight children who showed symptoms of measles, three children had not been vaccinated so far. He informed that out of the eight children who were sampled, two girls came home from India two weeks ago and one girl came home only two years ago.
Three-year-old Ashika Nepali, five-year-old Anuska Nepali and Nisha Nepali of the same Municipality-1 Amkot are those who did not get vaccinated. Kalshi Nepali, a relative of Kalshi Nepali, said that when children with symptoms of measles and rubella go to the basic health post after walking for two hours for treatment, the health workers do not treat them and report to the municipality.
He mentioned that if he was worried that the children would die after the health workers returned home without treatment at the health center, he was finally reassured after the municipal health wing staff came and treated him. Two weeks after the children of 20 families fell ill in the village, they reached Dhuralsain Health Center two hours away for treatment.
