Kathmandu, 23 Feb:  Passengers of Kathmandu Valley, a place with facilities, are forced to travel dangerously in public vehicles. Due to the negligence of the driver and co-driver, the passengers were forced to take a dangerous journey. According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, since the beginning of the current financial year, the passengers had to travel dangerously, the action campaign was intensified.

So far in the current financial year, 21 thousand five hundred eight drivers have been punished. Senior Superintendent of Police Rajendra Prasad Bhatt informed that among them, 15,629 drivers were prosecuted for driving vehicles with their doors open. Leaving the door open increases the risk of passengers falling from it.

According to the information received, 2,683 in July, 2,873 in August, 749 in October, 1,826 in October, 2,826 in November, 2,734 in January and 1,938 in January. The driver was arrested. He said that 5,802 drivers who were driving vehicles with more passengers than their capacity were also punished. Similarly, 77 tempo drivers were also punished by the traffic police.

After they were found to be traveling by hanging the passengers behind the tempo, they were prosecuted. Spokesman Bhatt requested the transport businessmen not to carry more passengers than the capacity and passengers not to travel by pulling or hanging on the vehicles as there is a risk of accidents if the vehicle is not controlled.

In section 164 of the Vehicle and Transport Management Act 2049, if the limit of people and goods sitting or being kept in the vehicle is determined, action will be taken if the vehicle is driven with more than that limit.
