Kathmandu, Feb 21: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has expressed commitment to take initiative to bring Dinesh Karki, who is in jail in Saudi Arabia for the past two years, to Nepal.

Prime Minister Dahal made the commitment while meeting a team comprising Ganesh Bahadur Karki, father of Dinesh, at the prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar this morning. The PM drew the attention of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take initiative immediately to repatriate Dinesh to Nepal by releasing from jail.

 

“The incumbent government is most sensitive for the rights and safety of Nepali workers abroad. Nepalis working in foreign countries have significant contribution in the national economy. So it is the responsibility of the state to make arrangement of their welfare and security,” he opined.

Prime Minister Dahal shared, “The government is committed for the self-esteem of Nepalis, who are in overseas employment, as well as to mobilize their capital, skill and technology in the interest of Nepal.” Dinesh of Chaubise rural municipality-4 in Dhankuta is in Saudi jail on the charge of violating traffic rules.
