Hard Rock Cafe Kathmandu set to open this October

Kathmandu. Kathmandu will open its doors at Sherpa Mall, Durbar Marg, in the heart of iconic Kathmandu later this October.

Along with memorabilia from some of the music industry’s biggest names, it will feature a US-inspired menu, cocktails and even a culinary tribute to its new home city. Sited on first and top floor of the building, the restaurant can take up to 260 covers indoors as well as on an outdoor terrace, looking over the roofs of Durbar Marg. A highlight of the menu are undoubtedly the burgers for which Hard Rock® is famous.

That includes the Legendary Burger with its proprietary blend of buffalo meat, with cheddar cheese, crispy onion ring, leaf lettuce and vine-ripened tomato, served with Hard Rock signature steak sauce.

Elsewhere on the menu, salads come with grilled, fresh, free-range chicken or California-style cobb – chicken with roasted corn, black beans and imported cheddar cheese, while sandwiches include barbecue pulled chicken or grilled honey mustard chicken all served with seasoned or cheese fries.

One of the stars of the menu are the baby back pork ribs, specifically imported from Denmark for Hard Rock Cafe Kathmandu. 750g of ribs, seasoned with a signature spice blend, then glazed with house-made barbecue sauce and grilled to perfection, served with seasoned fries, coleslaw and ranch-style beans.

Along with a selection of bottled beers and wines, there will be a range of ‘boozy milkshakes and signature cocktails including Hurricane – a 1940s New Orleans classic comprised of white rum, a blend of orange, mango, pineapple juice and grenadine, finished with a float dark rum and amaretto.

In true Hard Rock® fashion, diners will be seated alongside glass cabinets filled with fascinating rock and roll memorabilia and, for those keen to snap up a memento of their visit, there is a Hard Rock® – Rock Shop selling themed merchandise.

Hard Rock Cafe® Kathmandu will employ over 100 local staff. Many of the food ingredients are sourced from small, local producers. In a time of economic downturn, Hard Rock Cafe® Kathmandu is investing heavily in the local community.
