Terhathum, July 22 : Twenty-six households displaced and affected during the 10 years long conflict in Terhathum have received Rs. 5.2 million in relief support from the government.


A total of Rs. 5.27 million was distributed as relief support to the 26 families who suffered death, disappearance, injury and displacement during the armed conflict, according to the District Administration Office. The support was provided as per the recommendation of the local peace committee, according to Chief District Officer Bednidhi Khanal.

Of them, two families who have their family members disappeared received Rs. 1.4 million while six families suffering death of loved one received Rs. 2.3 million. The 20 families displaced during the conflict received Rs. 1.5 million.
A total of Rs. 6.7 million rupees were received by the district as relief and compensation to the conflict survivors. However, Rs. 1.1 million could not be spent and hence returned to the centre, the peace committee, Terthathum Secretary Tulasi Rimal said. (RSS)
