Institutional corruption hampering development: Chief Minister Gurung
Besisahar, July 16 : Chief Minister of Gandaki State Prithivi Subba Gurung has said that development construction works have been affected due to rising corruption.
Addressing the second district assembly of Lamjung District Coordination Committee here today, he said ‘implementation of budget is challenging due to corruption.’ He also said that institutional corruption is on the rise, and development as expected cannot be achieved until it is put to an end.
The Chief Minister expressed sadness over the increasing tendency of the people’s representatives to work in collusion with office bosses and contractors instead of serving the people. The work of the people’s representative needs to be monitored, and development projects should not be left at the mercy of the users committee, he said.
