Equal rights to all citizens, PM Oli says
Kathmandu, July 14 : Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the Constitution of Nepal has guaranteed equal rights to every citizen.
At a programme organized by All Nepal Women Association in the capital city on Saturday, PM Oli said the constitution has not discriminated the citizens.
During the programme entitled ‘100 Years of Social Movement of Yogmaya Neupane and Women Liberation Movement’, the PM said that no citizen would be deprived of the rights from the state and urged all to participate in the grand campaign of bringing about changes in the country through prosperity.
The constitution has ensured freedom of expression but ruthless expression is not allowed and the duties towards country, people and society should be discharged, PM Oli said.
Saying that the lawmakers were free to make their statement in the House, Oli added that the country and the constitution have trusted on the lawmakers and the lawmakers should present themselves in a responsible manner.
PM Oli also said that the government was committed to safeguarding the rights of women.
On the occasion, Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizen Thammaya Thapa and other women leaders expressed their opinions on women’s emancipation.
