New penal code to be implemented strongly
Kathmandu, July 7: A two-day workshop participated in by senior police officers and government lawyers has stressed on the effective implementation of a new penal code coming into effect from August 17.
The workshop organized by Nepal Police Crime Control Division concluded today issuing a 18-point declaration for the effective implementation of penal code.
The workshop has stressed on the effective way of accusation process to make the investigation stronger.
Similarly, investigation officers attending the workshop have opined for easing the process of receiving call details from the telecommunication offices as there is the mandatory provision of obtaining permission from the courts for collecting call details and other information required in course of crime investigation.
Wrapping up the programme, Nepal Police Chief Sarbendra Khanal stressed the need to put collective efforts so as to eradicate crimes in the societies.
Joint Attorney General Lokraj Parajuli, province-3 deputy inspector general of police Deepak Thapa, Crime Control Division chief DIG Dhiru Basnyat, among others focused on coordination between police and government lawyers for effective crime investigation.
