Province 4’s SA put off

Pokhara, July 3: A State Assembly (SA) meeting of Province 4 called for 13:00 hrs today has been put off by pasting a notice. Province deputy-speaker Srijana Sharma informed the postponement of the meeting until 14:00 hrs of July 5, citing a special reason.

According to the source, discussion about the issue of giving a name to the province was the agenda of the today’s meeting. It may be noted a committee formed to propose the province’s official name presented its report to the SA about a month ago, recommending Gandaki as its name in the first priority. Other recommended options are Tamuwan-Magart (second), Gorkha (third) and Dhawalagiri (fourth).
